1.Overview

The Department of Orthopedics at the Children’s Hospital of Fudan University was established in 1952 as a branch of pediatric surgery and became an independent clinical department in April 2007. As one of China’s leading pediatric orthopedic centers, the department integrates clinical practice, research, and education, leveraging the National Children’s Medical Center platform to advance cutting-edge diagnosis, treatment, and technological innovation in pediatric orthopedics. Focused on core areas such as spinal surgery, limb deformities, hip disorders, fracture trauma, and bone/soft tissue tumors, the department has established two pioneering goals: the **Pediatric Spinal Surgery Center** and the **Limb Deformity Correction Center**. Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including the first O-arm system in a pediatric hospital in China, the S8 intraoperative navigation system, 3D-printed implants, and a "super operating room," the department delivers precise and minimally invasive care.
The department currently has 20 core physicians, including 3 Senior Attending Orthopedic Surgeons, 6 Attending Orthopedic Surgeon (Associate Senior Level), and 3 rehired senior orthopedic experts. The Fudan Pediatric Orthopedics Team has always placed great emphasis on the cultivation of doctoral and master's supervisors, senior professionals, and young physicians. Among the team members, there is 1 postdoctoral fellow, 11 individuals with doctoral degrees, and 8 with master's degrees. Currently, the department has 1 Doctoral Supervisor and 2 master's supervisors and offers both doctoral and master's supervisor programs. Regular academic lectures and clinical seminars are held within the department to continuously enhance professional competence and ensure the stable and orderly development of the talent team. The focus is on building a professional, dedicated, efficient, and sincere team.
