Medical expertise:

Surgical treatment of pediatric hydronephrosis, vesicoureteral reflux, duplex kidney, severe hypospadias, clitoral hypertrophy, and other urogenital anomalies. Specializes in minimally invasive surgery for congenital urinary tract malformations and surgical management of disorders of sex development (DSD), with a particular expertise in modified single-port laparoscopic surgery for infantile hydronephrosis. Extensive experience in pediatric urologic oncology.

Introduction:

With over 20 years of clinical experience in pediatric urology, Dr. Lu has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of common and complex pediatric urological conditions. In 2015, he completed a clinical fellowship in the Division of Pediatric Urology at Cincinnati Children‘s Hospital Medical Center, USA, and subsequently received specialized training in pediatric kidney transplantation in China, obtaining surgical qualifications in kidney transplantation.
He has delivered oral presentations at multiple international conferences, including the 20th (Czech Republic, 2011), 25th (Japan, 2016), and 26th (UK, 2017) International Pediatric Endosurgery Group (IPEG) Annual Congresses. From 2015 to 2025, he presented over 10 times at national pediatric surgery and pediatric urology conferences. He has received several national awards: the Excellent Young and Middle-Aged Paper Award at the National Pediatric Surgery Symposium (Guangzhou, 2014) for “Laparoscopic End-to-End Ureteroureterostomy for Mid-Ureteral Obstruction”; the Second Prize in the National Pediatric Surgery Video Competition at the 14th National Pediatric Surgery Academic Conference (Suzhou, 2018) for “Single-Port Laparoscopic Pyeloplasty”; and the Excellent Paper Award at the 15th National Pediatric Surgery Academic Conference (Hangzhou, 2019) for “Laparoscopic Single-Incision Triangulated Umbilical Surgery (SITUS) Pyeloplasty.”
He has published 16 articles as first or corresponding author in SCI and core Chinese journals, and co-authored 6 medical monographs.
